Are QR Codes Going to Replace Traditional Barcodes?

The short answer is no, they won’t, because QR Codes are in fact barcodes. A QR Code is what we call a 2D Barcode and they’re the type of 2D Barcode most Australians would be accustomed to today given they can now be used for almost anything. 

What’s now changing with QR codes is how the information inside them is being structured, following a global standard as the current linear barcodes do. We’re also looking to determine exactly how QR codes will be used in the future, but they will definitely be a part of many consumer products, with exciting consumer benefits to be brought along with them.
