AMT Containered Trade Product Pack Code
AMT Containered Trade Product Pack (CTPP) is required to be provided for all medicinal/pharmaceutical products both branded and generic. This code provides a link from the physical packaged item identified by the GTIN and associated barcode to the components of the medicinal product, associated components, standard terminology and other key information that is used within medicines management in pharmacies and hospitals.
Providing this data accurately is critical in support of expanding electronic medication management (prescribing, recording, reviewing, issuing, administering) by providing an unambiguous way of identifying the attributes of the product.
The CTPP represents the marketable medicinal entity available for patient use, with details of the container type. Its attributes include the brand, active ingredient(s), strength(s), form, unit of use quantity and container type. Codes are allocated by the manufacturer/product sponsor within Australia in accordance with the guidelines developed by the Australian Digital Health Agency.
